Midnight Thoughts

What do you do when someone asks you a question you do not know the answer to? Furthermore, how do you explain that you have been torturing yourself with precisely the same question to no avail? What do you say when your words can make or break the moment and directly affect the future?
There are words that can so powerfully resonate in your mind hours and even days after they are heard. They seem to fade away after sometime, but they return in flashes every now and then to remind us of their existence. Once they are said/heard, they will forever exist. Of course, it doesn't help when the person who said those words in the first place decides to add more [words or actions] to the mix and make the whole situation even worse. But wait! Did I mention that by worse I mean better in such a twisted way that the lines between what is real and what is not becomes so blurry that it does not matter anymore. All energy is spent thinking about those words and what they really mean and why they were spoken. It is a vicious cycle. We search for a way to make those lines clear, but all we have is exactly what we have and what we want is what we keep telling ourselves we do not want.
