Between the lines

There are times when reading between the lines is the only way a situation can be made sense of. But there are others when reading between the lines just makes a situation that much more complicated. Wouldn't it be nice if everything was laid out as plain and simple as possible? Ha! No, it would not. The interesting part of life is precisely the fact that we have the freedom of interpretation. There is a caveat, however. Freedom of interpretation allows us to lie to ourselves and permits us to look the other way when something is clearer than water; and, vice versa. In short, it becomes the perfect excuse to "interpret" anything and everything to our convenience even when we know exactly what is going on.
