Diane von Fürstenberg

I had the privilege of attending a talk by Diane von Fürstenberg last Friday. She was inspiring, gracious and funny. Diane's story is a testimony of what can be achieved when we truly do the work required by our dreams to come true. Nothing can come out of thin air, but hard work makes miracles happen.
While she was speaking,  she told us that weak women are a nonexistent species. This, she explained, is because women's strength sometimes lies dormant as they live an oppressed life. So they seem weak. But as soon as a tragedy occurs, these women are as strong as can be. So she said, "you might as well be strong without the tragedy." *snap*
Diane's presentation was so lively! It was difficult not to be intrigued while also laughing at her jokes. She is one of the best speakers I have heard; and, it was all her real life. Her words to live by, "You don't need to know what you want to do. But you need to know what kind of women you want to be."
