Drinks in Madrid

I must admit that I sort of did not eat in Madrid. I mostly just had drinks. After I found my friends, we walked around for a bit and without intending to we began the bar hopping fun!

First stop: El Anciano Rey de los Vinos located right in fron of the Catedral de la Almudena. We had the so very typical vermú de grifo. The custom, we were told by a Madrileño, is to have it before dinner on Sundays. It was soft and sweet, but rather good. We also have some tapas to accompany the verrmú. Oh, and the bar was a very cute.

Second stop: A small bar in Plaza Mayor to have the typical caña (beer) with bocadillo de calamari (fried calamari sandwich om French bread).

Last stop of the night was La Cartuja Disco. A club located near la Puerta del Sol. There we had a drink (a charro negro) and enjoyed the music. DJs in the US really need to take lessons in Europe!
